Music is our speciality, from bhangra to the blues. Which other area can boast so many festivals?

The annual Colne Rhythm and Blues Festival and the Burnley National Blues Festival attract international talent.
The same can be said for the summer’s Ribchester festival of Music and Art and the Ribble Valley International Piano Festival.
Regional food is showcased at the Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food and Culture.
On the sporting front the Pendle Bike festival
While the year round Bowland Festival is a must for natural history enthusiasts and keen walkers and bird-watchers.
There are at least three walking festivals, the Rural Rossendale, West Pennine Moors and Pendle Walking Festivals.
Venues
Pennine Lancashire’s performance venues attract international stars. They range from King George’s Hall and Thwaites Theatre in Blackburn, Burnley Mechanics and Colne Muni, to Clitheroe’s Grand, Rossendale’s Boo Theatre (home of Horse and Bamboo theatre company) and Nelson’s new ACE centre.
The Halle and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestras are regular visitors to King George’s Hall, Blackburn and the Manchester Camerata to Colne Municipal Hall.
In the tiny village of Knowle Green seasonal series of lunch-time concerts, many showcasing rising stars including past Young Musicians Of The Year, are organised by John Travis Events.
A thriving network of youth theatre and amateur groups ranging from Pendle Opera to renowned choirs ensure there are opportunities a-plenty for those with talent.
